Dr. Eva Johnston was the first President of the Columbia, Missouri Branch in October 1907.  Born in Boone County, she was the first Dean of Women Students and a Latin professor at the University of Missouri.  The Branch Scholarship is given yearly in her honor.

The scholarship is awarded to a female student who is a resident of Missouri and attends either Columbia College, Stephens College, or the University of Missouri – Columbia,

Is 22 years of age or older.

Has completed a minimum of 15 hours of her undergraduate program.

Is enrolled in a minimum of nine credit hours.

Has maintained a 2.5 GPA.

The 2024-2025 scholarship will be awarded to a Columbia College student.
